Since 1957 Gehrett Plumbing has provided quality plumbing services throughout the Chicagoland area. Here is a short synopsis of our success.

 

• 1957 - Gehrett Plumbing Company founded by Homer Gehrett in Elmhurst, IL.

• 1971 - Ray Black joined Homer as a partner in the business and the headquarters moved to Winfield, IL where they begin to do commercial, industrial and institutional work.

​​

• 1972 - Gehrett Plumbing Company becomes incorporated as Gehrett Plumbing, Inc.

​​

• 1977 - Homer sell the business to Ray Black. Frank Kennedy joins the organization. Frank brings with him expertise in commercial and industrial plumbing, which he acquired while working for Litvin Plumbing Company, first as a journeyman, then working his way up to foreman and superintendent on several major projects in the downtown Chicago area, including the Hancock (875 N Michigan) Center, Water Tower Place and the CNA building. He continued to direct many projects for Gehrett Plumbing including Argonne Labs, Amoco Oil and Central DuPage Hospital.

• 1980 - Frank's sons Brian and Tom join the company.

​​

• 1988 - Frank becomes sole owner of Gehrett Plumbing moving the company headquarters to the Chicago-Midway Airport area where it remains today.

​​

• 1992 - Mike Kennedy joins the rest of the family and adds a carpentry division to Gehrett Plumbing, which now provides carpentry for commercial and industrial buildings in the area.

 

• 2012 - Brian Kennedy becomes President of Gehrett Plumbing.

• ​Today - Gehrett Plumbing, Inc., continues to provide professional plumbing services in and around the Chicagoland area with 10 union plumbers, many of whom have been with us for over 15 years.

​

As a licensed (City of Chicago Plumbing License #BC15426 / State of Illinois Plumbing License #055-000178), insured, and bonded union shop, Gehrett Plumbing can provide you with expert plumbing and carpentry.

 

We consider ourselves a medium-sized company with an annual average dollar volume of $4,500,000 to $5,000,000.
